Creating Slide Shows

PhotoSnack is a new slideshow maker I've discovered. Like most of them the promise is for free slideshows but it seems like everything is an extra for which you have to pay. It is however free and easy to use for the watermarked version as below.

It's been quite some time since I've been out and about because I don't find it nearly as enticing when the weather is hot or humid. So I've been spending time experimenting with creating gifs from images processed differently.
An alternate .gif creation site is http://gifmaker.me/ . I used the site to create my Sydney Park Contrast Set

I've been experimenting with different programs for creating videos. The first is Slide.ly which is a free online creator. One of the advantages is unlimited photos and an option to select a reasonably clean interface. Other options are One True Media which also requires free subscription but has a limit of 30 images on the free version, Roxio Photo Show which supplies a basic show with greater access to sound and styles with  premium membership and You Tube which appears to allow unlimited images but makes sound tracks difficult to locate.

Examples can be compared below.
1. a Slide.ly

1. b. A Second Slide.ly video

2. One True Media
I dismissed this option as I couldn't see any way to use an embed code and had to provide third party access to my account to post to my blog

3.Roxio Photo Show

Apparently Roxio Shows expire after 30 days. Oh well - will teach me to read the fine print

4. Proshow Web

A free online slideshow creator for Mac, PC + mobile incorporating  photos, videos and music. Build, edit and share anywhere. Just login online or use the free mobile app. This is the free online version but there are other paid packages available. As stated on the Cape Banks post, the free version below is limited to 15 slides which is probably just what I need in order to rein myself in. :-)

 5. Photostage Slideshow Producer
NCH software supplies a Free version of Photostage for non commercial use and it seems very user friendly although some good basic tutorials can be located online I was pleased to discover that videos can be easily merged which is one skill I'm interested in trying.

6. Ezvid
Another one I've just discovered which looks quite powerful and has a few additional tricks up its sleeve like screen recording and annotation
7. Vimeo
easy to use but I havent explored it in depth so am not sure how varied the choices of music are. It also doesnt seem possible to edit the video once its saved.

8. Slide Player
Slide Player is one I've not yet used but it gives the effect of watching one of those old fashined film strips even with accompanying clicks each time the slide is changed as an option.
